What type of sign should I use to advertise my commercial property?
There are two main categories of commercial real estate signs. Free standing signs are usually placed as close to the road as possible. Attached signs are mounted directly to the building.
Free standing signs usually provide the best visibility since they can be placed close to the road. We create V shaped signs, post and panel signs and banners. Banners are the most economical but have the shortest life span. To choose between a V shaped sign or a post and panel sign you need to determine visibility for your audience. Choose the sign that provides visibility to the largest number of prospects. You should take into account how “traffic” will be approaching your property. Keep in mind that if you place your sign in the winter the view may be entirely different in the summer (think green!)
V signs are a little more expensive but can provide greater visibility. With each face slanted toward oncoming traffic visibility can be higher. Post and panel signs can be single or double sided. Many people opt for the double sided post and panel sign to increase readability to passing traffic.
The most common attached sign is a banner. Large banners are commonly used to advertise space for lease. They are economical and very visible. The downside is how long they may last. Weather conditions can play a big part of this. On other occasions we attached digitally printed signs mounted to a 4’x8’ substrate. These signs have a long life and can be laminated to protect from fading and grime.
