Signs work for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a week. They work more hours than your sales team but cost significantly less. So why do we just think of them as signs?
Well, if you are McDonalds that’s not how you look at it. McDonalds actually budgets a significant dollar figure on permanent signage (not to mention the window graphics they do). They also PLAN to have their signs built before their store opens. Typically the sign is the first structure built on the property. They successfully use their signs to market their business. Are you using your sign to its fullest potential?
Did you know that every five years 50% of the population moves? (per the census bureau)
Did you know that between 26% - 35% of people stopping into a restaurant say their reason for the visit was “saw it while passing by”.
Need any more encouragement to spend some time, thought and money on your signs?
If you ask people who have visited a new business, 46% of them will say the sign is why they visited.
So how do you make a good sign? I’ll give you three things to think about what your sign design should do for you:
• Attract new customers
• Brand your site in the minds of consumers
• Create "impulse" sale
These are the ABC’s of signage! In our next article we will discuss one of these elements in detail.
