How to WOW with a trade show display!
Everyone putting together a trade show has one goal in mind. GET ATTENTION and generate leads.
It’s not an easy thing to do when you are competing with fifty+ other groups or organizations. There are some creative people out there some with huge budgets. When money matters you want to get the best bang for your buck. I’d like to share a couple of tips on WOWing your potential customers.
Food! The obvious but always catchy food. This one can be from extravagant to simple candy. Many people will stop by for no other reason than grabbing a delicious snack. Only your sales techniques can get you engaged in a good conversation with this customer.
Energy! Not only must you demonstrate high levels of energy but your display should as well. Do you have pop up displays with bold colors and calls to action? Does your trade show display fit your space properly? Does the layout of the displays, banners and tables entice people and keep them in your space?
Give aways! Gather visitor’s business cards in a fishbowl to enter them in a raffle. People always like to win things. You don’t even have to go over the top. A night at a nice hotel or a set of tickets to an event will do. Although larger can draw more people this doesn’t have to be a budget breaker. Your give away should be something your target customer would like, not every single person at the Expo. And don't forget to create signage that will promote your give away!
These tips are just the beginning. You should have a well thought out theme and the appropriate trade show signage to support this. Consider having different sets of digitally printed material for different shows, your target audience may be different. This should lead to a more successful show.
Don’t forget that it takes time to design and create a great trade show concept. Give yourself ample time to kick ideas around and about two to three weeks to produce the signage. Take the time to work with your design team to get your theme perfect!
