Now that you have your truck wrap (or car wrap) designed it’s time to actually produce the materials for your wrap. Here are some tips to help ensure you get the best products.

Product Selection – There are many types of wrap vinyls, there is no one vinyl that is best for every application. The best product for the situation should be used. Using the wrong product may lead to vinyl failure and unsatisfied customers. Proper products will last for years and most are warranted by the big manufacturers when printed and installed properly.

Vinyl printing – many car and truck wraps are printed with solvent printers. These inks need to allow gas to escape out of them before they are laminated. If they are laminated too early these gases are trapped and can’t escape. We usually recommend 48 hours unless a significant portion of the design will be ink free.

Lamination – this protects your print from physical scuffing and more importantly UV (ultra violet) sun rays. UV rays quickly fade printed materials. UV rays are what turn newspapers yellow, very quickly if left in the sun for a few days. Laminates come in different finishes such as gloss, luster and matte. Finish is more of a customer preference as the different finishes should physically function the same. There is some debate in the wrapping world about liquid versus roll laminate; many saying that liquid laminate is not as good as roll laminate.
